Moss and Mortar
★★★★☆ 4.2
Moss and Mortar is a gardening sim with a slow heart, and I mean that as a compliment. You inherit a crumbling greenhouse and rebuild it pane by pane, planting things that take real in-game days to mature. It sounds sleepy but there's a real satisfaction loop hiding in the patience.
The touch interactions are lovely — wiping condensation off glass, pruning with a swipe, dragging soil into planters. Nothing is timed and nothing punishes you for stepping away. I checked in twice a day for a week and every visit had a small reward waiting.
If you want action, look elsewhere. If you want something to putter around in while your brain unwinds, this is a keeper. The end-game estate you build is genuinely worth the wait.
What we liked
- Tactile, gentle touch interactions
- No punishing timers or fail states
- A rewarding long-term rebuild
